windmillWind is one of the most abundant sources of renewable energy known to man. Unfortunately it is unpredictable and can come in as a subtle breeze or as blustery gusts when the temperature drops or rises quickly. It can blow in on a moment’s notice and last for days or disappear for weeks at a time.

One of the holy grails of our generation is to find and capture that energy to use as a source for powering your home. Growing your power through your own home based wind plant is a concept that many would love to understand and implement.

As people tire of handing their money over to utility companies, Middle Eastern economies and other global energy conglomerates, some have begun to explore ways to create a sustainable way to capture and store energy for their own use. Living off the grid is becoming a more popular idea as technology advances. In addition, the US government is now becoming more serious in moving us to a greener country to relieve us from the dependencies of oil and other climate damaging technologies.

The course will be long and steady, but eventually our creativity and ingenuity will lead us in the direction of a more resourceful and responsible America. As the popularity of natural gas, solar and wind farms become more engrained in our culture, we as individuals will begin to look at ways to do our part for our own cost savings and reduction of our carbon footprint.

Harnessing the wind is not a particularly complex process and can be available to anyone who is halfway competent and handy with tools.  Essentially, a home based wind plant can be designed and erected in reasonable period of time. However, one must understand that due to the unpredictable nature of wind, it probably will not be the sole source of renewable energy for the household but should be part of a larger energy independent strategy.

Of course, location is critical to the success of developing a wind power plant in your backyard. If you live in higher elevations, chances are wind is much more abundant usable. In addition, living near oceans or lakes can also provide a climate to support a wind power generating strategy. One drawback many have to overcome is the stigma of having a windmill type of device visible on their property. Although many talk the talk about wind power, it can be quite a different story when they have to erect a tall structure for neighbors to see and comment on.

In conclusion, a home based wind plant can help in your quest for energy independence, but careful consideration should be focused on the viability of the location and the visual nature that a windmill can bring to a neighborhood.

Take care of your planet and it will take care of you Wind/Solar Power can be used to get you off the grid.

Windmill Generator Plans – Save Money While Saving the Planet
By Vincent Vega

windmillIf you are interested in alternative energy sources of energy such as wind power to create electricity for your home then it is strongly suggested that you get a hold of some quality windmill generator plans and take the job on yourself. The reason being that it is actually relatively simple to build your own windmill while buying one from a commercial manufacturer on the other hand can be extremely expensive.

A residential windmill can cost up to $25,000 in fact. Conversely, windmill generator plans will run you about $50 and the parts needed to construct your DIY wind turbine can be picked up for less than $200 from your local hardware store or home improvement center. It doesn’t take a math genius to figure out what the better deal is there does it?

A DIY windmill does not take any special skills to construct either. Nor does it require any special tools. It can actually be a rather enjoyable project that will in the end give you a great deal of satisfaction when completed.

It could take you decades to recoup the cost of a commercial windmill, while the cost of a DIY windmill will be recouped within a few months of installing it. There is also a tax deduction allowed by the IRS for utilizing alternative energy sources

How much electricity your windmill will generate is pretty much predicated upon how large it is and how much wind it will get where it is constructed. We have all seen those giant wind turbines on the windfarms. They produce electricity that is measured in megawatts. In other words, enough to power up an entire neighborhood.

Of course, that is not our goal here so the windmill that we are looking to construct will produce energy that is measured in kilowatts per hour (kwh). Typically, a residential wind power generator will not be enough to get you off the power grid and be completely self-sufficient as far as your electricity needs goes.

What it will absolutely do is save you a substantial amount of money on your utility bill each and every month. Windmill generator plans will allow you to construct a residential wind power generator that will not only create electricity for your home but will also let you to store it in batteries where the energy source can be tapped when the wind is not blowing.

There is one decided downside to wind energy that is rather obvious but I will state it anyway, when the wind does not blow and the blades do not turn, no power is generated. It is much the same thing with a solar panel. When the sun does not shine it cannot produce electricity because there is no energy being absorbed from the sun.

A quality set of windmill generator plans will have you on your way to realizing substantial savings on electricity bills. It will not however, create enough power that you’ll no longer need your utility company. Now if you were to build several DIY windmills then you may just be able to become 100% self-reliant for your electricity needs.

high land

In the near future, there will be rapid changes in our environment. Many researches have proven that in 50 to 100 years time there could be greater consequences. So, we should start thinking of our future and plan accordingly. This world in which we live has a very complicated structure. There are some things that famous scientists and researches don’t yet understand. Global warming, however, reveals not only the reasons, but also the effects of using natural resources and fuels. However, this theory remains controversial among scientists, some oppose and some comply.

It’s common to see those that believe global warming occurred due to rapid development in the industrial area, yet many people still believe global warming is a natural occurrence that has nothing to do at all with the industry, or the deposition of toxic elements released by the burning of fuel. Yet, the atmosphere remains vulnerable to such actions on a daily basis and will remain so unless we do something about it.

Collectively, the data extracted from studies shows that the human race is responsible for global warming – it’s taken several hundred years of pollution/intoxication of the Earth to get where we are now. How can we nullify this effect? There are no answers, only hope; we must prevent the act of destruction for our sake.

In order to achieve recovery, everyone needs to collaborate in an attempt to resuscitate the health of the planet. Scientists say that the use of natural resources will not only help maintain the atmospheric conditions, it will also improve them. As an individual it is your responsibility to adopt a safe lifestyle and help contribute to the security of our planet. Things such as the use of solar and wind power will undoubtedly make a huge global improvement.
