DSC00136 Here is one I created to fit inside a window of one of my rooms.

Just a prototype but, it was pulling in heat within five minutes after Installed it.

It will need some insulation around it, but it was working well.

Since this was a prototype, I was not worried about how pretty it was. Next one will be more visually pleasing

  2. I actually think this idea would work in my kitchen window-the coldest room in the house! does the heat really permeate right through? Is that wood?
    thanks

  4. I am still testing but I did drill an exit hole on the top for the hot air to escape.

It is made of wood and is a prototype, but should provide decent heat. remember to insulate around it.

I am also thinking of another similar design that does not require the window to be open so wide… Stay Tuned

  8. Hello,

I am still putting together a few designs. I do not have anything prepared at this point, but feel free to stop back now and again as I will be putting new info up as I create them.

Essentially I make them based on the window size I am working with.

    Thanks for the comment

  10. Nice idea, I always remembered walking past a garage door that was painted black, and feeling the strong heat comming from it in the winter. Also the other day i also burnt my hand when I touched my front door it is painted black . I know you are trying to keep your cost down, but i was wondering if you think copper tubes would work any bette than the plastic pipe , and also if you could paint the copper if that would increase its ability , i read that copper is next to silver in it ablity to transfer heat , and that silver is the best . My other question is what happens after the unit is not facing the sun, what is done then, because after it cools I guess it would allow cold air into ones house , or let te warm air then escape into the pipe and out of your house . I saw something along these lines on e-bay it was thinnner and it fit into the window and had a fan that would come on to force the heat into the room . Anyways thanks
